James Clement Smith, III, 80, of Greenwood, Florida died Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Jackson Hospital. He was born October 18, 1942, to James and Sara Holle Smith in Birmingham, Alabama.
Jim served in the United States Navy on the USS Essex. He worked well over 30 years in computer technology, working with various companies including Compaq Corp, IBM Corp, as well as while serving in the US Navy. He was a longtime member of The Church of Latter Day Saints of Marianna and involved in various volunteer work with the church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Smith; his son, James Clement Smith IV; parents, James Clement Smith II and Sarah Holle Smith; and his brother, John Britton Smith.
Jim is survived by his son, John Scott Smith; nephew, Britton Ladon Smith and wife, Sammi of Phenix City, AL; niece, April Waldron, and nephew, Keith Glisson, both from Columbus, Georgia.
Funeral will be graveside, 11 AM Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Sink Creek Cemetery, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct.
