Glenn E. Scherer Jr.

June 21, 1948 — September 30, 2021

Glenn E. Scherer, Jr. 73, of Malone, Florida died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Southeast Medical Center.

He was born June 21, 1948 in Lockport, New York to Dorothy and Glenn Scherer. He served as an Air Craft Mechanic in the United States Air Force for twenty years until he retired as an E7 Master Sergeant. During his time in the Air Force, he served in Vietnam and obtained numerous awards and medals. In September 1985 he married the light of his life, Ada.

Glenn was a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He would do anything for anyone. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He held a special place in his heart for his first grand daughter, Sharon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn E. Scherer, Sr.; mother, Dorothy Scherer; brother, Barry Scherer; and grandson, Dustin Riley.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ada Scherer; daughter, Renee Riley (Roger); grand daughters, Sharon McKay (Blake), Jessica Christmas; grandson, Glenn McEwen; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kellie, lovingly known by her papa as Strawberry Shortcake, Emmalee, and Benjamin McKay,  Bella Rose McEwen, Levi and Layla Christmas; and best friend, Clint McCardle.

Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM (CDT) Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Tallahassee National Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 -10:30 AM (CDT) Thursday, October 7, 2021 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
