James Winfred Bell, 80, of Malone, Florida, died at his residence July 18, 2022. He was born in Headland, Alabama, February 28, 1942 to the late Winfred and Ethelen Bell.

He was employed by Summerford Truck Lines and Alabama Motor Express of Ashford for nearly 40 years, and was a member of Collins Chapel Baptist Church in Malone, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Hettie J. C. Bell; five sons, Rodney Bell of Arab, AL, Rusty Bell (Kathy) of Dothan, AL, Duane Bell (Gayle) of Slocomb, AL, Charles “Shorty” Carraway of Marianna, FL, James Carraway (Patricia) of Panama City Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John Jacobs of Birmingham, Rev. Ken Beard and his wife, Flora Beard of Malone; sisters-in-law, Ollie Sullivan of Marianna, Dorothy Mathis of Malone, Ethel Dehart of Winter Haven, and Alma Tina Sims of Altha; along with special friends, Mervin Land, Vern Hall, Johnny “Red” Thompson and Rev. Johnny Hamilton.

Memorialization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
