Willie Paul Baxter, 86, of Marianna, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his residence.
Willie was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. He served four years in the United States Air Force, he was a self-employed farmer and well known throughout the tri-states for growing giant peanuts. Willie Paul was a member of Marianna First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Green and Myrtle Mooneyham Baxter and one sister, Dorothy Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Floyce James Baxter of Marianna; one son, Randy and wife, Pat of Greenwood; one daughter, Janet Baxter of Marianna; two brothers, Earnest Baxter and wife, Bernice of Greenwood, Bobby Baxter and wife, Susan of Timmonsville, SC; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Revs. Stephen Potter, Sean Reisenbuechler and Tyler Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
