William Bertram Steely, Jr.

William Bertram Steely, Jr. 70 of Graceville (Poplar Springs Community) passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Faircloth and Mr. Jack Jones officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mr. Steely affectionately known as "Bert" was born in Eufaula, Alabama on July 12, 1937 to the late William Bertram and Annie Laura Sheppard Steely. Mr. Bert retired Civil Service as an Illustrator. He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Bert was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Vera Steely of Bonifay; four daughters, Janet Bush and husband Steve of Graceville, Pam Floyd and husband Jackie of Ponce de Leon, Angie Rabon of Chipley, Kim Wood and husband Robert of Bonifay, brother, James Steely and wife Mary of Graceville, two sisters, Joann Hartzog and husband Dallas of Headland, Mary Brown and husband Harmon of Eufaula; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
