William F. "Bill" Hicks, 53, of Marianna Florida died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Bay Medical Center.
William was a native of Warwick, RI, Hicks had resided in Jackson County for the past 19 years. He was a kindhearted soul who helped anyone who needed him. Jack of all trades working on small engines and lawn mowers for friends and soon to be friends. Lending a hand when asked without expecting a return. Extraordinary husband (who spoiled his wife), father, and papa to his grandchildren. He loved Living a life soaking up the rays by the ocean and being captain of his boat, Enjoying wherever adventures he and his love got into. Be it boating to Shell Island or getting lost in the gulf, watching dolphins by the jetties as he gets shipwrecked on the beach with his crew, or traveling from New Orleans to New England with tales of escapades spun by his wife.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth C. Hicks, nephew, Frankie Scattone; sister in law, Linda Baker; brother in law, Michael Hayes.
Survived by his wife of 24 years, Tambra M. Hicks; son, Dylon W. Hicks; daughter, Tabetha A. Smith and husband, Patrick Hunt; two sisters, Maureen Venditti and Husband Toni, Sandy Hackenberg; two brothers, David Hicks and wife, Sherry, Kenneth Hicks and wife, Sharron; Mother, Eleanor Hicks; two brother-in-laws, John Hayes and Lenny Baker; Two grandchildren, Jude and Tiffani Hunt; best friend, his mother in law, Barbara Cournoyer; nieces, Chrissy, Kimberly V, Kimberly C, Samantha, Ashley, Taymie; nephews, Chris, Matthew, Josh, Kyle, Kenny, Lenny, Brandon, and Michael.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Josh Dudley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
