James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Wesley Dexter Neel He passed away July 10, 2012 at age 58 at 10:57 a.m. EDT. He was a sixth generation Florida native. His forefathers include an American Revolutionary war officer, a Florida Civil War Cavalry officer, and a Florida Civil War infantry soldier. He was born in Chattahoochee, Florida and raised in the Cow Pen Pond Community near Dellwood. Dexter was in the cable business for 35 years in Atlanta Georgia. He was the owner and president of Neel Cable Inc. Not only was he a cable / fiber optics contractor, he also was a western pleasure horse trainer and former bull rider and telephone lineman. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Michele Spencer Neel formerly of Crestview, Florida. His sister Ola Frances Neel Williams and her husband Russell Williams of Grand Ridge Florida. His sister Debbie June Neel Bundy and her husband Mike Bundy of Quincy Florida. He also leaves behind one niece Maria Williams of Apalachicola, three nephews; Neal Williams of Grand Ridge, Todd Bundy of Tallahassee, and Craig Bundy of Quincy. And two great nieces and two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Wesley R. and Mary V. Neel. grandparents Rufus and Georgia Ann Hair Neel, and Oscar and Ola Messer Robinson. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. (CDT) Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church 3250 Cypress Grove Road, Grand Ridge with Revs. Jack Howell and Wayne Fussell officiating. Interment will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at 2 p.m., at the Church. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Flowers accepted or those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
