Wanda Louise (Tuten) Yon, 74, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2024, at her residence. Wanda was born December 15, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Guilford and Doris (Bennett) Tuten, and stepmother, Louise (Cribbs) Tuten.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Gary Yon; son, Tray Huffman (Jim); twin brother, Ronald (Ronnie) Tuten; sisters, Elaine Miles, Reba Parrish, and Jeanette Welch; nephew, Christopher (Chris) Miles; grandnephew, Butchie Miles; stepchildren, Emily Hoffman (Michael), Anna Strickland (David); and 13 step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her stepchildren, Sarah Gonzalez (Salvador), and Paul Yon.
Wanda was a loving and supportive mother, sister, and wife. She was the center of her husband's world and they loved each other dearly. She loved being at the beach, out on the ocean boating, or water skiing in her younger years. She had a huge heart and joy for life, and a great love for dogs which she had several over the years. Her departure will leave a void that can never be filled or replaced, and her absence will be felt for years to come by family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Tommy Moore officiating.
Memorialization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
