Virginia W. Meadows, 91, of Marianna, FL died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her residence.

Ms. Meadows was born March 21, 1928 in Daleville, Alabama to William Clell and Vita Virginia Byrd Windham. She had four brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Daleville High School and started her work career as a practical nurse at the hospital in Hartford, Alabama where she met Hubert, her husband for 62 years. She worked as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly Grocery for 26 years before retiring. She spent her retirement years loving her family and sharing good times and memories. She was an excellent cook and loved sharing recipes. Many friends of her grandchildren would visit and eat meals at her house and would always want to come back to visit again. She enjoyed playing games with family members. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Hubert Meadows and daughter, Rebecca Meadows. She is survived by two sons, Neal Meadows (Jane), of Tallahassee, FL, and David Meadows (Betsy), of Norfolk, VA; two granddaughters, Leslie Tucker (Gavin), and Kathryn Meadows, both of Marianna, FL; one grandson, Kevin Meadows (Ashley), of Marianna, FL; two great grandchildren, Lauryn and Griffin Tucker, of Marianna, FL; and honorary granddaughters, Heather Tatum and Jessie Dean Caughran.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. CST, Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Gino Mayo officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. CST at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna, FL.
