Virgie Lee Swails

Virgie Lee Swails, 97, of Marianna died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. A native of Blue Springs, Alabama Mrs. Swails had resided in Marianna for more than 76 years was a homemaker and member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cary Swails and her parents, John F. and Fannie Wilkerson Simmons. Survivors include three sons, James L. Swails and wife Thelma, Billy E. Swails and wife Wanda, Richard E. Swails and wife Nell all of Marianna; one daughter, Lucile Rivers of Dothan; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm, Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Caverns Road Church of Christ, 4448 River Road, Marianna with Rev. Bill Wheeler and Mr. Timothy Smith officiating, burial will follow in the Alford Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Maddox Chapel. Flowers will be accepted, if desired contributions may be made to the Marianna branch of Covenant Hospice, 4440 Lafayette Street, Suite C, Marianna, Florida, 32446.
