Viola Simpson Jeter, 87, of Grand Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 12:08 AM, at Jackson Hospital. She was born in Farmville, North Carolina on May 9, 1936, to Horace and Reatha Simpson. She retired from Bell South with over 40 years of service in Jacksonville, Florida. She returned to Grand Ridge in 1996, where she was a member of Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church and served as the Church secretary. And also volunteered at Jackson Hospital as a “pink lady”. Viola enjoyed traveling, church activities, fishing, going to the beach with family and friends, as well as volunteering. And her favorite overall joy, was her granddaughter Maggie.
Viola was preceded in death by her son, Keith Frank Jeter, and daughter, Teresa Jarvis; her husband, Billy Frank Jeter; her parents, Horace and Reatha Simpson; two sisters, Reatha Mae Clark and Eloise Newton.
Survivors include daughter, Tammy Moulton of Grand Ridge, and granddaughter, Maggie Moulton; one brother, Orren Simpson and his wife, Sarah, along with several special nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, along with many dear and special friends.
With heartfelt gratitude, we the family respectfully thank and acknowledge each and every one of you for your visits, calls, prayers, cards, floral arrangements and all other expressions of sympathy shown during our time of bereavement.
Celebration of Life will be Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at Shady Grove Penticostal Church in Grand Ridge.
