James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Vernon Howard Hill, 76, of Greenwood died Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Jackson Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, having served in the U S Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Hill and Cora Lee Hill. Survivors include his wife, Mozell Hussey Hill; son, Howard Hill; two daughters, Barbara Sewell and husband, Joel, Jeri Lynn Klinert and husband, John; one brother, Danny Hill and wife, Linda; four sisters, Ada Lawson and husband, Larry, Marie Smith, Annie Pitman and Magalene "Maggie" Neel; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jason Sewell; Nicholas Klinert; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Welcome Assembly of God Church near Dellwood with Rev. Charles Jackson & Dr. Thomas Batts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Welcome Assembly of God Church 6784 Messer Road, Grand Ridge.
