Verna Mae Hollister

Verna Mae (Neel) Hollister of Grand Ridge , passed away October 20, 2015, following a lengthy illness. She was 91 years of age. She was born April 27, 1924, to Curtis and Mattie (Ray) Neel.

She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Harold Dowling Hollister, daughter, Helen "Holly" Roberts, brothers Andrew, Herbert and Eugene Neel,
double first cousins, who were like sisters, Florence (Neel) Dykes, Elizabeth (Neel) Mathis and Vivian (Neel) Skipper.

Survivors include son, Harold E. Hollister, Grand Ridge, daughter, Nora Beauchamp (Harold), Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren Robert Howell (Amy) and their children, Addison and Thomas, Quincy, Amy Shepard (Aaron), Sycamore, Justin
Roberts (Joelle) and their children, Hollister and Maxwell, Marianna, Ryan Roberts (Jennifer) and their children Blake, Austin and Luke, Cypress, Stephanie Culbreath (Lance) and her daughter, Hayden Gause, Marianna.

Additional survivors include sister, Merle Stephens, Greensboro, sisters-in-law, Betty Neel, Sneads, Genell Neel, Grand Ridge, brother-in-law Herbert Hollister, Marianna, son-in-law Richard Roberts (Ellen), Grand Ridge, double first cousin, Velma Woodward, Vonore, TN, a special friend and neighbor, Sally Waxgiser, along with many nieces and nephews.

Homegoing service will be 3 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Cypress United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery, Reddoch Road, Grand Ridge, FL, with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Visitation for Mrs. Hollister will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (CDT), Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Cypress United Methodist Church, 6267 Cemetery Avenue, Cypress, Florida.
