Velma Perkins

Velma Perkins passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at her residence. Ms. Perkins was born in the Shady Grove community of Jackson County where she was a life time resident and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Green "Buster" Perkins, Jr.; one grandson, Donald Glenn Perkins. Survivors include one son, Robert Glenn Perkins and wife Patsy of Grand Ridge; three daughters Bytha Lunell Neel and husband, Jim; Juanita Daniels and husband Mike of Marianna; Alice Faye Edwards and husband, Jim of Sycamore; Apples of her eye's was her nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at Christian Covenant Church in Grand Ridge with Revs. Mike Daniels, Larry Carnley, Jason Daniels and Danny Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Family Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday June 12, 2008 at Christian Covenant Church in Grand Ridge.
