He was born in Washington County, lifelong resident of the Alford area. Tommy retired after 30 years of service with the Jackson County School System. Survivors include three brothers, Gerald Kent of Alvin, Tx., Jay Kent and Herman Kent both of Alford; three sisters, Bobbie K. Barnes of Alford, Betty Miles of Graceville and Patricia Sowell of Birmingham, Al. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Maddox Chapel with Revs. James Vickery and Garry Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Alford City Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
