Mr. Tom L. Parnell January 5, 1936 - January 15, 2011 The fascinating life of Tom L. Parnell began on January 5, 1936 in Vinita, Oklahoma; born to Willie "Bill" and Maggie Parnell. After completing high school in 1953, Tom attended NEO A&M where he earned a business degree. He served as the President of Oklahoma American Medical Technologists, worked as a medical lab technologist at a five-doctor clinic, taught junior high school, led praise and worship 20 years, was an ordained elder and licensed minister, and has been in business for himself since 1975. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Sue Parnell with whom he has enjoyed 52 dedicated years, raising three sons and most recently serving on the leadership team for The Bridge, Marianna where Mr. Tom was loved and adored. His cheerful disposition and encouraging words have a way of making everyone feel like they alone are his favorite person. His unwavering faith in God and knowledge of scripture leaves a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to call him friend. As Mr. Parnell's transition takes him to his new home in heaven, his family and friends are honored to celebrate his life and the positive impact he has had on those around him. Preceded in death by parents Bill and Maggie Parnell, his sister Leota Fair and brother Willie Parnell. He is survived by many friends and loved ones including his beloved wife Mrs. Sue Parnell and their sons Jeff, Michael and Mark Parnell , Mark's wife Robyn Parnell, and his brother Bud Parnell and wife Jackie of Centereach, New York. Tom also has 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He has 4 nieces and 3 nephews. A Celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday January 18, 2011 at the Marianna Church of the Nazarene at 10 am and will be officiated by Pastors Gailand Bay and Jamie Stephenson.
