William Timothy "Tim" Sims, 57, of Marianna passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Jackson Hospital.
"Timmy" was born March 2, 1958 to Bill and Elma Sims in Marianna. He was a hard worker all of his life and enjoyed the outdoors, collecting artifacts and coins. He spent many hours working on the family farm with his brother Clark and managed Vipperman Hog Farm in Marianna from 1973-1983. For the past 32 years he had worked at Chipola Builders Supply. Many people will fondly recall visiting with Tim and his son, Chad at their produce stand on Hwy 71 each summer.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Bill Sims.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his high school sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Jimmie "Juna" Sims; one son, Chad Sims. He had also recently been blessed to have a special young man enter his life, Robert Zeledon; his mother, Elma Sims; siblings, Clark Sims (Jean) all of Marianna, Sandy Reeves, (Ron) of Suffolk, VA, Dale Sims (Charlotte) of GA, and Nancy Edwards (Gene) of Marianna, Lynn Anderson (Mark) of Thomson, GA, Regenia Johnson (Mike) of Apopka and his mother-in-law, Helen Conrad of Sneads.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marianna with Bishop Petey Sims & Mark Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Sims Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
