Thomas J. Bower, 70, of Marianna, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Bay Medical Center.
A native of Kansas, Thom has lived in Jackson County, FL for the past 45 years. He served in the Army in the Vietnam Conflict in the Military Police Division. Being an outspoken and opinionated character, he enjoyed canoeing, cave diving, spending time with family and friends, and riding his Can-Am motorcycle. He was a loving and caring person who mentored several young people before becoming ill. Thom was of the Episcopalian faith and at the time of his death, was surrounded by family who loved and supported him.
Thom was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Lorinda Bower and one brother, Tad Bower.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Ann; sons, Matt and Michael Bower of Panama City, FL; two step sons, Charles and Michael Etheridge; three grandchildren, Melody Maceo and Leander Bower; one step grandchild, Elijah Etheridge.
Thom requested no funeral or memorial services, but that his ashes be scattered on the Chipola River. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org in Thom's memory.
