Thelma Ruby Martin

Thelma Ruby Martin, 84 of Marianna died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home. A native of Valdosta, Ga., Mrs. Martin had resided in Jackson County for the past 38 years, was a member of the Moose Lodge, a former employee of the Caravan Restaurant and the 76 Truck Stop, till a few months ago she was the hostess at Hardee's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie L. Martin and her parents Oscar Lee and Dovie Luegenia Pike Emery. Survivors include a daughter, Gena Snead; a son, Bruce Henry both of Marianna; five grandchildren, Billy Jackson and wife Susan of S.Carolina, James Jackson of Virginia, Jeff Jackson of S. Carolina, Cecil Henry of Ok and Lisa Henry of Grand Ridge; six great grandchildren, Brandon Jackson, Connor Jackson, Gabby Jackson, Alex Jackson, Kelly Henry and Brook Ledbetter. Graveside funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Cypress Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating. Interment will be at Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, July 20, 2009 at Maddox Chapel."
