Sylvia Sharon Ricks

Sylvia Sharon Ricks, 67, of Greenwood died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Southeast Medical Center Long Term Care of Dothan. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, Mrs. Ricks was a member of Cypress Methodist Church and a retired Corrections Officer with the State of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents John Todd and Estelle Miles Halstead. and a brother, Robert M. Halstead. Survivors include her husband, Alfred F. "Al" Ricks of Greenwood; one son, Jimmie M. Baumgartner of St. Petersburg; one daughter, Denise B. Henderson and husband Edward O. II of Naples; one grandson, Edward O. Henderson III of Naples; one nephew, Robert M. Halstead of Marianna; one niece, Sonja Romero and husband Anthony of Lake Butler. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, January 5, 2009 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Hollis officiating, burial will follow at Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Maddox Chapel."
