Shirley Lanier Parmer

July 13, 1935 — July 24, 2010

Shirley Lanier Parmer, 75, Of Sneads died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, Mrs. Parmer retired from Florida State Hospital as an accountant, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sneads and a devoted member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mollie Dykes Lanier. Survivors include, her son, Ben Parmer and wife Carrie of Orange Park; two daughters, Cindy Applewhite and husband Gary of Marianna, Patti Byler and husband Joe of Sneads; one brother, Cecil Lanier and wife Jackie of Pensacola; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three very special life long friends, Faye McDaniel, Mary King and Willie Mae Goold and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Sneads with Rev. Robert Johns officiating. Interment will follow at Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday. July 26, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Sneads. Member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made of Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Street, Suite E, Marianna, Florida 32446"
