Shirley Faye Cogburn, 74 of the Kynesville community passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna following a short illness. Shirley was born in Kynesville on December 23, 1936 to W. Addison and Bazzie Lou Swails Cogburn. She attended school in Kynesville and Marianna. Shirley spent her entire life on the Cogburn farm in the Kynesville community where she loved to be outdoors, either walking on the country road or resting in the porch swing watching the kittens play. She enjoyed reunions, covered dish dinners, visitors, holidays and keeping track of her brother Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wesley Cogburn of Kynesville and Otis Cogburn of Columbus Ga., niece Amy Cogburn of Columbus, Ga. and nephew Rick Zawada of Jacksonville. Survivors include one sister, Frances Zawada of Tallahassee; two brothers, William A. Cogburn, Jr. of Tallahassee and Charles Cogburn of Kynesville; her niece and special care-giver and companion, Seleta Cogburn; other nieces, Helen Cogburn Anderson of Kynesville and Patricia Cogburn Smith of Atlanta; nephews, William A Cogburn, III of Jacksonville, Thomas Cogburn of Norco, CA, Jeff Zawada of Altamontte Springs and David Cogburn of Round Lake. Funeral services will be 3 pm Friday, July 29, 2011 at Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow at Kynesville Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 2 pm Friday, July 29, 2011 at Maddox Chapel till funeral time.
