James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Shannon Dewayne Carter, 40, of Marianna died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his residence. Shannon was a native and lifelong resident of Marianna and a 1992 graduate of Marianna High School. He was employed for a number of years with the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys. Shannon loved his family, enjoyed fishing and camping. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue James Brock; paternal grandparents, the late Lloyd and Christine Carter; maternal granparents the late Leland and Mary James. He is survived by his father, Ray Carter and wife, Pauline of Cottondale; one daughter, Rayleigh Brooke Carter of Sneads; one brother, Jason Carter and wife, Angie of Greenwood and many extended family members. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. James Vickery officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
