Sarah Bessie Budd Fortner, 69 of Graceville, FL formerly of Avon Park, FL went to be with the Lord Monday, December 14, 2009 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Revs. Jackie Register and Raymond O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Collins Mill Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mrs. Fortner was born September 14, 1940 in Avon Park. She lived her earlier years in Avon Park and moved to Graceville in 1980. She was a previous employee of the Junior Food Stores as a cashier manager. She was preceded in death by her parents James Harrison Budd and Mary Louise Simpson Budd, brothers William Remus Budd, George Grant Budd; grandchildren Tara Batts and Joani Batts. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Billy Ray Fortner; son Johnny Ray Fortner and wife Candy, Graceville; daughters Freda Louise Adams, Graceville, Shari Marie Moffatt and husband Russell, Two Egg, FL; brother James Aaron Budd, Lake Placid, FL; sisters Patricia Ann Conway, Newbern, NC; Jeannette Marie Massey, Bailey, MS; grandchildren Jennifer Fortner, Chipley, FL; Lacy Adams, Marianna, FL; David R. Adams, Carrabelle, FL; Sarah Batts, Graceville; Chrissy Deon, Graceville; step grandchildren John Barnes, Jacksonville, FL; Jesse Barnes, Graceville; fifteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
