James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Russell Tyus, 81, of Graceville died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Signature HealthCare of North Florida in Graceville. A native and life long resident of Jackson County Mr. Tyus was a retired supervisor with Baxter Asphalt Company. He was preceded in death by is wife of 36 years, Audalene Tyus and four brothers, Lamar, J.H., Timothy and Troy Tyus. Survivors include two sons, Allen Ray Barrentine and wife Lori of Wicksburg, AL, Robert Tyus and wife Nedra of Semmes, AL; seven daughters, Linda Tyus of Pell City, AL., Wanda Schmitz of Mobile, Dianne Bryan and husband Frank of Dothan, Dawn Elder of Panama City, Deborah McCormick of Marianna, Denese Toole and husband Tony, Darlene Brock and husband Johnny all of Graceville; two sisters, Inez Williams of Grand Ridge and Nell Thompson of Las Vegas; one brother, G. R. Tyus and wife Susie of Grand Ridge; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell and Rev. Brad Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Carpenter Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Maddox Chapel.
