Russell King, 83 of Graceville (Salem Community) passed away Sunday May 9, 2010 at the Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mr. Russell was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on July 9, 1926. A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. King was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of New Home Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Annie Leddon King of Graceville, two sons Glynn King of Indianapolis, IN, Hugh D. King of Walls, MS; three daughters Jane Watkins, Alread, AR, Karen Herron, Memphis, TN, Kathy Farrow, Chipley; three brothers Lawrence King, Doyle King, Morris King; three sisters Faye Burgess, Mae Ingram, Gladys Meads all of Oxford, MS; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at New Home Baptist Church with Revs. Raymond Owens and Brian Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
