Ruby Mclane White

Ruby McLane White, age 96, of Marianna died Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Marianna. Born in River Junction, Florida, Mrs. White had resided in Jackson County most of her life. She served her local community for over 40 years as a registered nurse for the Health Department and Jackson Hospital. She was an active life member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna, participating in the Joy Club and the Willing Workers Sunday School. She was also a dedicated member of the Marianna Garden Club and the Women's Club. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, John Winston White, and a sister, Gladys Bell. Survivors include her three daughters, Brenda W. Evans of St. Joe Beach, Sharon W. Mason and husband Joe of Chipley, Royce A. White of St. Joe Beach; one sister, Edra Parker of Marianna; four grandchildren, Rodney E. Evans, Stephen S. Evans and wife Rosie, Kevin Barber, Rob Barber and wife Daniela; eight great-grandchildren. The family extends a heartfelt gratitude to special friends, Frankie J. Duncan, Leon and Linda Doney for their loving support and their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Courtyard Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Mrs. White during the final months of her life. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Maddox Chapel with Dr. Shannon Eads officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Prior to the funeral the family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am at Maddox Chapel.
