Roy Mayfield

Roy Lewis Mayfield, 85, of Marianna died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. He was a native of Wilton, Okla. Live most of his life in Jackson County. He was retired U S Army Sgt. after 21 years of service and retired Sunland with more than 17 years. He was a member of the Marianna Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mayfield; 2 sons, John and Richard Kelly Sr.; 1 daughter, Pearl Messner; 1 grandson, Richard Kelly II; 1 great granddaughter, Patricia Kelley; 1 great great grandson Kyle Lewis Kelly. Survivors include, 3 grand daughters, Lori Burch and husband Joseph, Pearl Price and husband Chris, Sharon Mayo and husband Carlos all of Marianna; 1 grandson, Robert Messner of Marianna; 13 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Marianna Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Chuck Woods and Edward Bazzell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with full military honors. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
