Harold Roy Hutto The Hutto family of Marianna lost a great husband and wonderful father. Mr. Roy Hutto died on August 15, 2009 at the age of 72. He was a 36 year resident of Marianna who will be missed not only by is family, but also by the community who view him as a true patriot and friend that served the citizens of Jackson County for the greater good. Roy was born in Largo, Florida on July 31, 1937. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Hutto of Wildwood, Florida. Roy served his country in the U.S. Marines with tours of duty in Southeast Asia. After his service with the USMC, he became a Florida State Trooper, where he served for 25 years. He retired in 1989. After retirement, Roy continued to be active in the state and his community. He served with Congressman Bill Grant for two years. He served as Executive Director for the American Association of State Troopers. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna and the Fishermen's Sunday School Class. He was an avid sport fan whose sons followed in his footsteps as football players for Florida State and Georgia Tech. Roy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret E. (Libby) Williams Hutto; his oldest son Michael Harold Hutto and wife Kelley and their children Mitchel Thomas, Nickolas Harold in heaven to greet his Papa, and Jillian Kelley; his youngest son David Mark Hutto and wife Tina and their son, Samuel Roy Hutto; brothers Henry L. Hutto and wife Pat of Plant City and David F. Hutto and wife Joyce of Fruitland Park. Roy has two generations of nieces and nephews who will miss their mentor and role model. His mother-in law, Marguerite Williams was truly a second mother to Roy after his mother died. Mrs. Hutto and family encourage donations to the Gretchen Everhart School in Tallahassee in memory of Roy and his grandson Nickolas. Funeral service will be 12 noon CDT, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Marianna with Mr. David F. Hutto, Mother Travis Boline and Mr. Harold Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with U.S. Marine Corp. honors with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm CDT Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Maddox Chapel. "
