Rosie L. Hamilton

Rosie L. Hamilton, 89, of Grand Ridge died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County she was a member of Providence Baptist Church, loved the outdoors, her favorite time was fishing, gardening and flowers, she was praised by many as the best cook in Jackson County. Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband Evelyn Hamilton, a son Kelly Hamilton and a step-son Harold Hamilton. Survivors include one son, Richard Ellis Hamilton and wife Doris of Grand Ridge; one step-son, Rev. Johnnie Hamilton and wife Maxine of Marianna; three daughters, Margie Ann Hamilton of Grand Ridge, Thelma Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., Allie Ruth Blair of South Jordan, Utah, one step-daughter, Lillie Newsome and husband Joe of Panama City; two sisters, Ruby Scott of Morehaven, Fl and Thaine Tripp of Arcadia, Fl.; several grandchildren. Graveside funeral service will be 10 am Monday, October 5, 2009 at Carpenter Cemetery with Rev. Jack Howell officiating with interment at Carpenter Cemetery. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Maddox Chapel.
