Ronnie Leon Sims, 24, of Marianna died Monday, February 5, 2007. Born in St. Tammany Paris, La., he moved to Florida in 1983 where he grew up and was a graduate of Altha High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served with the 144th. National Guard Unit. He believed in God and Country. Ronnie was an avid FSU and New Orleans Saint fan. He loved history, friends and family, but above all he loved and cherished his little girl. Survivors include his daughter, Laynnie Sims and son Devon; his mother, Janice Parker and special friend, Wilson of Marianna; his father, Johnnie Leon Sims of Pearlington, Ms; four brothers, Johnnie L. Sims, Jr. of New York, Jason Sims of Slidell, La., Rex Hansford, Jr. of Great Lakes, Ill. and Robbie Hansford of Panama City; Two sisters, Christina Broxton and husband Terry; Shir Smith and husband Travis all of Hosford; Maternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Oalmann of New Orleans and Nelson and Hazel Parker of Roberta, Gal.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, February, 10, 2007 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating, burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with military honors, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday, February 9, 2007 at Maddox Chapel.
