James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Rodney Glenn Deese, 60, of Marianna died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at his residence. Rodney was best known and remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and "Pa". Rodney was a bi-vocational Southern Baptist Minister and a psychological specialist. He received a Bachelors of Science degree in Theology, and a Masters Degree in Psychology and Counseling. He was an active member in Heaven's Saints Motorcycle Ministries, in which he was Chaplain for the Northeast Florida Chapter. He was also an active in Prison Ministries and Bill Blass Ministries. He was an active member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Marvin and Ruthie Deese; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grady B. and Vonceil Parker. Survived by wife, of 39 years, Linda P. Deese of Marianna; Daughters, Kimberly Bishop and husband, Craig of Marianna, Cassie Corbin and husband, Keith of Tallahassee; his siblings: Lamar Deese and wife, Jeanette of Greenwood, Duke Deese and wife, Brenda of Grand Ridge, Ann Hewett and husband, Foster of Grand Ridge, Betty Todd of Chattahoochee; Step-mother, Lillian Deese of Dothan,AL., sister-in-law, Caroline Dalton and husband, Joe of Nicholson, GA.; brother-in-law, Harold Parker and wife, Angela of Marianna. Six very special grandchildren, Melinda, Marcus, Caroline, Austin, Emily and Kloe; A host of nieces, nephews and many friends. Extended family Jeff Carr of Maysville, GA. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2010 at Greenwood Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Fitzgerald and Dr. Mike Burns officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
