Mr. Reid was born in Johnstown, PA. to Gertrude and John K. Reid. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from 3M Company in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Mrs. Gertrude Marie Will; two brothers, John K. Reid Jr., James D. Reid, and his wife, of 30 years, Anita Wiggins Reid. He is survived by his wife, Sue W. Reid; brother-in-law, Walter Wiggins of Marianna; one sister, Delores Nolasco of Langhorne, PA.; two daughters, Nicole Lyn Chambliss and husband, Dwayne of Marianna; Michele Valentine of Conroe TX,; one son, Michael Reid of Levittown, PA; three stepdaughters, Tara Barfield of Midland, GA., Michele Nocito of Steubenville, OH; Phoenicia Rossner of Marianna; two stepsons, Chuck Seaver of Albany, GA. and Alan Seaver of Midland, AL.; six grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, four step-granddaughters, six step-grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Keith Cowart officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with full military honors given by Sneads American Legion, Post 241. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct.
