Robert James Carpenter

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Robert James Carpenter, 91, of Marianna, died Saturday, January, 10, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Carpenter was born in Thomaston, Georgia, served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 -1945. He retired as an Aeronautical Logistics Engineer. Robert was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was preceded by his wife of 57 years, Alice Juanita Foran Carpenter in 2014; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include eight children, Robert James Carpenter, Jr., and wife, Addie, Harry Nicolas Carpenter, Randy Carroll, Ginger Blanton and her husband, O.E, Becky Dunaway and her husband, Donnie, Leslie Okashah and husband, Mohammad, Betty Luther and husband, Bill, and Jonathan Carpenter. Grandchildren, Adam Okashah, James Carroll, Andrea Westphal, Christina Blanton, Rory Dunaway, Nicole Hatcher, Matthew Dunaway, Alexander Okashah, Rebecca Okashah, Sarah Long, Brandi Luther, Elizabeth Luther and Greg Carpenter. Great-Grandchildren: Aubrianna, Makenna, Ethan, Ian, Rowan, Layla, Rana and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna with Pastor John Rollyson officiating. Interment will follow in Vickery Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, 4785 Highway 90, Marianna.
