Robert "Tony" Barnes, 59, of Sneads died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born in Panama City, Tony had resided in Jackson County most of his life, he attended Marianna High School and owned Tony Barnes Construction Company. He was a gifted artisan and craftsman, specializing in wood work. Tony enjoyed spending time on the water, fishing, and taking photographs of wildlife. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious Meady, Virginia Mitchell Barnes, and a sister, Brenda Jeter. Survivors include his wife, Kim Barnes; one son, Kearce Baker of Sneads; three daughters, Kerrie Harrell and husband Jeremy, of Marianna, Leigh Barnes and Madison Baker of Sneads; two brothers, Raymond Barnes and wife, Jessica of Marianna and Rick Barnes and wife, Susan of Greenwood; one grandson, Jaxson Harrell; several nieces and nephews; and his devoted dog, Coal. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Mike Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Directing.
