Revis Robert "Robby" Brown, 52, left his cherished family and a host of friends to meet his Lord on Saturday, October 10, after a courageous battle against bone cancer. Despite his illness, Robby's positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone he met. He updated his Facebook page regularly to keep everyone apprised of his situation, and frequently posted Bible verses to demonstrate his faith. Robby was born in Panama City, FL, and was pre-deceased by his loving parents, Robert and Carol Brown. Robby was a 1975 graduate of Marianna High School, and attended Chipola College. He began his career as a firefighter/EMT at Jackson County Fire Rescue (JCFR), and briefly interrupted it to relocate to Texas to work at an oil field. He returned to Marianna and rejoined JCFR, and eventually progressed to the rank of captain. He married his soul mate Karen (Toole) on March 16, 1985. In 1990, Robby and Karen celebrated the birth of their daughter Laramie. In 1993, Robby was selected to be JCFR chief, a role he served faithfully for 13 years. Under Robby's leadership, JCFR improved its facilities and equipment to a great degree. In 2006, Robby retired as JCFR chief and became administrative chief with Nature Coast Emergency Medical Services in Citrus County. While serving there, Robby received the catastrophic diagnosis that would alter his life, but he never wavered in his faith, and he remained upbeat until the Lord called him home. During his career in public service, Robby completed numerous classes and courses in emergency medicine, nursing and firefighting. He was full of humor, was an avid golfer, enjoyed sports, and loved to travel with his family and friends. He was a member of Caverns Road Church of Christ in Marianna, and attended Pleasant Grove Road Church of Christ in Inverness.
