Lonnie King

Lonnie King, 68, of Marianna died Monday, February 2, 2009, at Jackson Hospital. Rev. King was Southern Baptist by faith and a member of Providence Baptist Church. He graduated from Baptist Bible Institute in 1969. The love of his life were his children, grandchildren and serving the Lord. He ministered and pastored churches for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie L and Vida Tindale King; one brother, Jim King; one granddaughter, Arianna King. Survivors include his wife, Sharon King of Marianna; one son, Lance King and wife Ashley of Wiesbaden, Germany; two daughters, Melissa Roedel and husband Andrew of Marianna, Carolyn LaFond and husband Edward of Jacksonville; One sister, Laura Faye Hames and husband Butch of Lithia Springs, Ga.; one sister in law, Mary King of Silver Point, Tn.; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Dallas Ellis, Dr. Steve Canada and Rev. Richard Safford officiating, Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from Thursday, from 10 am until funeral time at Providence Baptist Church.
