Raymond H. Nelson, 76, of Marianna, FL, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Jackson Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1947 to Sidney and Gennieve Nelson. Raymond served his country in the Marine Corps for two terms in Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, he loved the outdoors. He sang in the choir at church for many years, and truly loved his church.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Gennieve Nelson; brothers, Henry, Wendell, Larry, and Terry Nelson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Stella “Joyce” Nelson; daughter, Amy Nelson; brothers, Clarence and Jerry Nelson (Jean); sister, Gwyn Thomas (Truett); numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Free Will Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 10 AM, one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.
