Ray Melvin Folsom

Ray Melvin Folsom was born on May, 31, 1917 in Colquitt County, Georgia. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and retired from The Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee FL as a shift supervisor. On September 15, 2009 he and his wife Mildred were happily married for 70 years until her death. He was a dedicated Christian and a member of The Dellwood Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and the life that he and his wife shared together. He is pre-deceased by parents Remer Ellis and Mamie Mercer Folsom Daniels, Step-Father Thomas "Son" Daniels, infant daughter Sandra Nan Folsom, a son Gerald Ray "Jerry" Folsom , and his beloved wife Annie Mildred Cloud Folsom. Brothers, Woodrow "Pat " Daniels, Artis Daniels, Tom Hall, Ralph Daniels, sisters, Lois Durden, and Grace Wright. Survived by son Jimmy Folsom and wife Linda, daughter Jan Coo k and husband Bobby all of Grand Ridge. Brothers and Sisters; Jack (Mary Ann) Folsom of San Diego, CA, Lige (Betty) Folsom Ft White FL, Alvin (Sue-Nell) Folsom and Dallas (Betty) Folsom all of Albany GA, Austin (Dot) Folsom Moultrie GA, Clyde Folsom, Ocala FL. Hayden (Jewel) Folsom, Brooksville FL., sisters, Nan Sue (Johnnie) Higginbotham, Jacksonville FL , Sandra (Tom) Reber, Orange Park, FL. and Loette Howell of Chattahoochee, Fl. Also brothers and sister-in-laws Charles Wayne (Betty) Cloud of Port St Joe FL., James (Betty) Cloud, sister-in-law's Lillie Cloud and Wilma Daniels all of Grand Ridge. Mr. Folsom is also survived by a host numerous nephews and nieces as well as special friends. Beloved to him were his six grandchildren Gary Folsom (LeAnn) , Ken Folsom (Amanda), Tanya Anderson (Jeff), Kristie Hall (Jody). Eric Cook (Stephanie), Anna Scott (Chad). Adored very much Great -grandchildren, Ashlee Folsom (Clint), Cessna Folsom, Aerial Folsom, Jacob Hall, , Jennilynn Hall, Joshua Folsom, Jolie Ann Hall, Georgia Rai Scott, Brady Anderson, Jimmy Ray Folsom, Carrington Scott, and Savannah Cook. One step great-granddaughter Marissa Starace and One great great granddaughter Anslee Grace Kelly. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Daniels, Rev. Jerome Harbert and Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Ask to serve as pallbearers are Graham Jones, Bobby Hall, Tim Durden, Kyle Wright, Bobby Jones and Donald Jackson. Honorary pallbearers Bobby Carmichael, Clarence Bullard, Larry Gilley, Harold Dunham, Winfred Carnley, Tom Daniels and James Cloud. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Mr. Folsom home at 2807 Stephens Road, Grand Ridge. Flowers will be accepted, if desired memorial contributions may be made to the Dellwood Baptist in Mr. Folsom name."
