Randall Amos Walker

May 26, 1943 — November 11, 2022

Randall Amos Walker, 79, of Bonifay, FL, passed away at home on November 11, 2022. Randall was born on May 26, 1943, in Dougherty County, GA to Bloncile and Jimmie Walker.

He graduated high school in Albany, GA then graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, TX. He was a traveling evangelist with the Assemblies of God for several years before meeting and marrying the love of his life, Claudia Ann Shelley in 1968. Randall pastored the Northside Assemblies of God church in North Fort Myers, Florida before receiving the call to missions to Brazil. Randall and Claudia packed up their lives and their children Stephanie Jeneanne and James Randall (Randy) to move to Brazil in 1974. They were blessed with one more boy, Jonathan David while ministering in Northern Brazil.

Randall taught at the Seminario Amazonica after a single year of language school. The Walkers ministered in both the North, near the Amazon, and in the more industrialized South of Brazil. Randall also used his language skills to minister in the West African nations of Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau.

The Walkers retired from the mission field in 2012 but Randall continued to minister at Carmel Assembly of God in Bonifay, FL for several more years until his health began to fail him. Despite multiple health and memory challenges, Randall still loved attending church, praying, singing, and visiting folks in the congregation, sometimes all throughout the service. In his last days, as his words became sparser, he held onto: “I love you!”. As his last moments approached, he was surrounded by his close family, singing to him, telling touching, and funny stories about him, and assuring him he was greatly loved.

Randall is survived by his wife, Claudia Walker; his children, Stephanie Bailey and husband, Patrick Bailey, Randy Walker and wife, Rebeka Walker, and David Walker and wife, Michelle Walker; grandchildren, Amos Walker, Anna Tavares, Anna Avidon and husband, Jonathan Avidon, Clay Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Grayson Avidon. Randall is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Shelley-Scribner, brother, Quinnon Stanford Walker; nieces and nephews, Joshua Scribner, Micah Scribner and Gina Walker.

Randall was predeceased by his father, Jimmie Harmon Walker (1965); his mother, Bloncile Ruis Walker (2011); brother, Quillon Walker (1939); and nephews Jason Scribner (2010) and Colin Walker (2020).
Randall’s memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., November 20, 2022, at Carmel Assembly of God in Bonifay, FL, with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating.
