R H Lewis Richard Hughes "R H" Lewis, 75 of Grand Ridge died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at his residence with his family at his side. He was born in Grand Ridge on October 11, 1931 to the Late Albert W. & Clara Stone Lewis. "R H" lived in the Shady Grove Community most of his life and retired from Florida State Hospital as a Supervisor after 34 years of service. He was later employed with the Jackson County School Board as a bus driver for twelve years then he worked delivering home infusion supplies for Vital Care of Marianna. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Shady Grove Pentecostal Church in Grand Ridge. "R H" was a very loving, caring & devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Darthy Y. Lewis; two sons, Rodney Lewis and wife, Delilah; Gregory Lewis and wife Wanda; one brother, Earl Lewis and wife Baya all of Grand Ridge; one sister, Leona Fussman and husband Walt of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; four grandchildren, Ryan and wife April, Jeremy and wife Shelaina, Brian and Courtney Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Addyson, Sarannah & Cole Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church with Revs. William Walker & Thomas Batts officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church, Shady Grove Road, Grand Ridge.
