Quinton Long

Mr. Long was a native and longtime resident of Bascom. He retired after more than 20 years from U.S. Air Force as an Engineer, serving in Japan, Okinawa, Germany, Philippines. His tenture began near the end of World War II. Quinton was employed at Bryan's General Merchandise in Bascom for a number of years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bascom, Quinton was a talented Bass singer who loved Southern Gospel Music. He is preceded in death by his brother, Carwill D. Long. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Strickbine of Lake Worth, Fl.; Blondell Long of Bascom and Kathryne Bartolovich of Bascom; eight nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Bascom Baptist Cemetery in Bascom with Rev. Greg Roberts officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Maddox Chapel.
