Mrs. Prudence McKinnon Dickson, formerly of 7084 Shady Grove Road, Grand Ridge, Florida; and more recently of 2045 Third Avenue, Apartment 103, Sneads, Florida, age 87, departed this life on the 28th day of August 2008. She was born 21 October 1920, in Shady Grove, Florida, a daughter of the late Raleigh Duncan McKinnon and his second wife, Hattie Yon McKinnon. She had been in declining health for a number of years and welcomed the opportunity to be with her long departed family and friends. On March 9, 1939, she married William Bernice Dickson, who passed in July 1973. Also preceding her were her parents; her half-brother, Wade McKinnon, and his wife, Myrtle; half-sister, Evelyn, and her husband, Albert Lewis; sister, Lillie, and her husband, Carey Goodloe; and, brother, John D., and his wife Jewel. She is survived by a son, Billy, and his wife, Harriet, of Tallahassee; two grandchildren: Beth Allen and her husband, Ronnie, of Grand Ridge, David Dickson and his wife, Jennifer, of Middleburg, Florida; 7 great-grandchildren: Zack and Heidi Folks, Tyler and Christian Dickson, Cameron, Caitlin and Connor Allen. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna, 4440 Lafayette Street, Marianna, Floirda 32446 Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ryan Martin, Rev. Mary Vance and Rev. Charles Riddles officiating, interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Billy, Harriet, Beth, and David would like to extend a special heart filled thanks to the staff of Jackson County Hospital, Dr. Rick Bruner and Dr. Mark Akerson for their caring support and assistance during the time that they were needed. All family, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend and share in the glory of her long and good life. Memorial contribution may be made to Covenant Hospice of Marianna.
