Pedro Nieto Baldovinos, 90, of Contla Jalisco Mexico, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
He was born and raised in Contla Jalisco Mexico until 2014 when he moved to Bascom, Florida. He was married for over 60 years to the love of his life, Amelia Hernandez Martinez. Together they had 14 children. He worked as a shoemaker to provide for his family in Mexico.
After his love for his family, came his love of soccer! He loved watching soccer and cheering for Chivas. He was always happy and laughing and did his best to keep others laughing by telling jokes. Pedro loved dancing, listening to music and sightseeing the local Florida farms with his son.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amador Nieto Silva and Gregoria Baldovinos Gudiño; wife, Amelia Hernandez Martinez; and two daughters, Laura Nieto and Laura Nieto.
He is survived by his children, Miguel, J. Jesus, Maria Guadalupe, Maria Esther, Maria Elena, Maria Josefina, Bertha, Ignacio, Toribio, Amador, Gregoria and Cruz; 54 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Monday, December 4, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Father Phil Fortin officiating. Burial will be in Contla Cemetery, in Contla, Jalisco Mexico.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

Nació y creció en Contla Jalisco México hasta 2014 cuando se trasladó a Bascom, Florida. Estuvo casado por más de 60 años con el amor de su vida, Amelia Hernández Martínez. Juntos tuvieron 14 hijos. Trabajó como zapatero para mantener a su familia en México.
Después de su amor por su familia, ¡vino su amor por el fútbol! Le encantaba ver el fútbol y animar a las Chivas. Siempre estaba feliz y riendo y hacía todo lo posible para que los demás rieran contando chistes. A Pedro le encantaba bailar, escuchar música y pasear por las granjas locales de Florida con su hijo.
Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Amador Nieto Silva y Gregoria Baldovinos Gudiño; esposa, Amelia Hernández Martínez; y dos hijas, Laura Nieto y Laura Nieto.
Le sobreviven sus hijos, Miguel, J. Jesús, María Guadalupe, María Esther, María Elena, María Josefina, Bertha, Ignacio, Toribio, Amador, Gregoria y Cruz; 54 nietos, 64 bisnietos; 2 tataranietos, muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y seres queridos.
El funeral será a la 1 pm Lunes, 4 de diciembre 2023 en James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Capilla con el Padre Phil Fortin oficiando. El entierro será en el Cementerio de Contla, en Contla, Jalisco México.
