Paula Ann Griffin, 62, of Pensacola died peacefully at home Thursday June 15, 2023.
Paula was born in Pensacola, Florida, August 15, 1960 to the late Hubert “Paul” Griffin and Wilma Francis Peacock Griffin. She was a graduate of Woodham High School Class of 1978. She also graduated from Florida State University, and pursued higher studies at the University of New Orleans and the University of West Florida. Paula married the love of her life, Frank Ludovina; after marriage they lived the rest of their lives in Pensacola. They enjoyed traveling and numerous adventures including riding horses on beaches! Wherever they went, laughter, generosity and warmth emanated.
Paula was a woman of faith and joy. She worked in multiple fields and locations including the Tulane University Athletics department and she had a special love for special education where she worked for ten years in the Jefferson Parish School System in Louisiana before retiring.
In retirement, she supported many causes related to her love for animals, rescuing abandoned animals and supporting animal shelters. She was also an avid member of local Grief Share groups since Frank’s passing. In her youth, Paula was a part of the Anchor Club and Teens for Christ at Woodham High.
Besides her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ludovina in 2020.
She is survived by two beloved “furbabies” as she called them, Mimi the cat and Jazzy the puppy; three stepchildren, Kestlyn Penley, Suzanne Winter and Jon Ludovina, along with numerous loving cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna, FL. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
