Paul Eugene Merrifield

Paul Eugene Merrifield, 86, of Paxton, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his daughter's home surrounded by his family. Mr. Merrifield was born April 15, 1928 in Wapella, ILL to the late Harry and Josephine Swearingen Merrifield. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean war and moved to Marianna 1968 from Illinois. Mr. Merrifield devoted his entire life to farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert E. Merrifield, two brothers, James and Francis Merrifield and a sister, Doris Hopkins. Survivors include his three sons, Don Merrifield of Paxton, Jim Merrifield and wife, Charlene, Fred Merrifield all of Marianna; one daughter, Jackie Pelt and husband Alan of Marianna; ten grandchildren, Scott and wife, Kizzie, Jenny and husband Matt, Bobby, Jason, Christopher and wife Liz, Ashley and husband Brett, Ryan, Mark and wife Savanna, John and fiance' Ashley and Mallory; five great grandchildren, David, Mia, Bella, Chloe and Cason. Graveside funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Honorable William Wright officiating with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
