During his early years he worked on the farm along with his family. He learned early on the value of hard work and "self reliance" during the great depression. All of his life he remained close to the soil and always had memories of plowing mules, hoeing peanuts. feeding hogs and harvesting corn. On February 14, 1941 he married Jeanette Mears and during the war he managed the express office at the railroad depot. The small house his family lived in is still there located in Daffins bottom. Paul and Juanita were married for 73 years and had five children. Later, during the war he obtained a job at Graham Air Base to work in the aircraft parts department. All of these experiences prepared him for his career in aircraft and the surplus business. After the war the family moved to Lake Worth, Florida where he worked in the produce department at an A & P grocery store. His next job took him to Dewie, Florida where he worked as a tile setter with his wife's brother, Emory Mears, He loved his experiences at Graham during the war. In 1952 he offered to work for free at Southern Aircraft Parts, just to learn the parts business. The company paid him and he was such a hard worker they fired the chief warehouseman and hired him full time. Eventually the company was sold and he was promoted to general manager where he became part of Rausa Cargo Airlines. In 1959 he left Southern Aircraft and formed Paul Brock Airparts and Gaskets, Inc. In a few years he moved the business to Marianna and owned a surplus store at the Stone warehouse at the railroad depot. After the building burned in 1978, he moved to Rocky Creek and maintained the surplus business there until he retired. Paul was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many leadership positions. He was always teaching the gospel.
