James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Oscar Lee Olive, Jr., 87, of Panama City died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home in Panama City. A native of Jackson County he had resided in Panama City for the past three years. Mr. Olive was a U. S. Navy veteran serving in World War II and retired from the Bureau of Federal Prisons. He was past Executive Director of the Marianna Chamber of Commerce and the Madison Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Olive also was a member of the Silver Haired Legislators, Toastmasters, AARP in Marianna and the First United Methodist Church of Marianna. In 1991, Mr. and Mrs. Olive started the Widow Persons Service in Marianna. His favorite past time since 1960 was watching Florida State Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar L. Olive, Sr. and Ethel McDaniels Olive. Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Jessie Olive of Panama City; two sons, Oscar L. "Bubba" Olive, III and wife Sharon Lynn of Panama City, Ashley Olive of Panama City Beach; two grandchildren Oscar Lee Olive, IV, Kassie Olive Boyer and husband Eric; one sister, Edith Carter and husband Harold of Ocala, FL. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday, October 23, 2014 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Michael Young, Rev. Bob Cowart and Rev. Roland Rabon officiating. Interment will follow at Bascom United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Maddox Chapel.
