Born in Perkinston, Mississippi, Mrs. Oxendine was a former long time resident of Cottondale prior to moving to Missouri to be close to her family after the death of her husband O'Neal Archie Oxendine on January 31, 1976. She was a homemaker and member of The Church of Latter Day Saints, Willard Ward, Willard, MO. Ollie Braxton and O'Neal Archie Oxendine were united in marriage on March 7, 1936. To this union one daughter was born. Together they were privileged to share 39 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Survivors include, one daughter, Peggy Bird and husband J. Thomas Bird of Ash Grove; three grandchildren, Krystie Brid, Zanna Denise Frost and Melanie DeAnne Hansen and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held 10 am Saturday, June 13, 2009 in the Church of Latter Day Saints, Willard Ward, Willard, MO. Graveside services will be 2 pm Monday, June 15, 2009 at Cottondale Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
