Odell Folsom

Odell M. "Shorty" Folsom, 78, of Marianna died Wednesday September 20, 2006 at Jackson Hospital. A native of Marianna, Mr. Folsom retired after 43 years as a Quality Control Supervisor from the Lehigh Furniture Manufacturing Company, he was a member of the Harmony Lodge #3 for 25 years and a past Worshipful Master, a devoted family man an active member and deacon of Eastside Baptist Church, He was an avid dove hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chanley and Floie Dykes Folsom, grandparents, Albert and Oliff Dykes; 2 sisters, Nora Melvin and Idomer Perdue, 1 brother, Chester Folsom. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Delores Sims Folsom, 1 daughter, Sandra Mooneyham and husband David, 2 sons, Larry Folsom and wife Darlene, Kenneth Folsom and wife Elaine all of Marianna; 6 grandchildren, Amber Baggett, Christy Hendrix, Tanner Padgett, Jessica Mooneyham, Ryan Folsom and Michell Hewett; 5 great grandchildren, Shanna Patterson, Chase Hendrix, Gabrielle Bess, Jasmine Bess and Ashton Hewett; 1 sister, Lossie Carter of Marianna; 1 brother, L.C. "Bud" Folsom of Marianna. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Hussey and Dr. Steven Canada officiating, burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 23, 2006 from 6 to 8 pm at Maddox Chapel.
